A short tale of a long scarf...

... which I finally finished and posted this morning! I have been model knitting a beret and scarf for the last three weeks. The scarf measures 190cm, which is very long in terms of scarf knitting. I began to feel like I was knitting a scarf for Dr Who (aka Tom Baker era, for those too young to remember). But tis finished and gone, never to be seen again! This leaves me some time to finish  Laughing Carrots for DD2.

As you can see, only half a sleeve to go and borders then it'll be finished.

Also squee! I have resisted buying any more charts for months, so decided to reward myself by buying two La-D-Da designs charts!  I bought Mares Eat Oats mainly because it is a song my Mum and my Nan used to sing when I was little, so I shall make this one for Mum. And I bought Something Wicked just because. So now I have an excuse to buy fabby and thread too. Double squee!!

Xmas pics

Just a quick post today, mainly to upload a slideshow of pics I took over Xmas and New Year. The majority were taken at the mk:centre christmas display which was just fab this year. We also visited Build A Bear as I had a money off coupon and I bought Kira an early christmas present - a bunny! Then there is a blurry pic of this years tree, and our christmas village. Finally, I took some pics of the girls playing in the snow last week, the last of which is disappearing rapidly.

Revamp

I rather neglected my blog last year, so I have decided to have a 'spring clean' and start again. I shall endeavour to post more frequently and with more pictures. I'm gonna have to redo my widgets. I was using blogrolling for my sidebar blog list, but they seem to be having some problems so I may have to enter my blogroll manually which is a pain in the bum. Also I have decided to abandon Shareapic photo service for the simple reason that it is crap. The pay per view is rubbish, the bidvertiser ads don't work properly, the bulk uploader isn't reliable and now I can't view my pictures. If I try to look at an album it wants me to install a photoviewer that is instantly flagged by AVG as a trojan. So I defer back to Photobucket, whom I should have stayed with in the first place.

I have also been working to set up an online business selling mind, body and spirit books. You can find my preliminary bookstore by clicking here     BERKANA'S BOOKS

Here's a pic of my lovely Daddy and my girls all wearing their winter hats. DD2 at front is wearing pixie hat that I knitted last year.

These pictures have been lurking on my laptop for so long I can't even remember when last year they were taken. I think they were taaken by Emma S. I'm cleaning out my pics too, so will post some more sometime during the week.
